Strategy to Build Muscle Mass Rapidly

Bodybuilders spend a great deal of time in the gym working out to increase their muscle mass. For some who are just getting into the routine, it can seem as if they are working very hard with nothing to show for their efforts. This is why different methods have been designed to build muscle mass rapidly.

The first key strategy one should use to build muscle mass rapidly is using heavy weights or resistance and fewer reps in the workout plan. It is necessary to put the muscles under a strain that will cause micro tears in the muscle fibers. These tiny tears create the spaces necessary for proteins to work to build up new muscle tissue. One unfortunate side effect is that these micro tears cause the pain of sore muscles. Soreness will pass, however, as workouts continue alternated with adequate periods of rest.

The second key element needed to build muscle mass rapidly is a healthy, balanced diet that is extremely high in protein. Proteins are broken down by the body into amino acids that can be reconfigured to produce the proteins needed by the body build up muscle mass and repair the torn tissues damaged by the heavy workouts performed by most bodybuilders.

In addition to large amounts of protein, it is important to consume slow digesting complex carbohydrates to provide the body with the energy needed to continue working out at the pace demanded by bodybuilding. The metabolism of bodybuilders is much faster than that of the average person, so they require more calories each day and must space meals out over the course of the day, eating 5 to 7 times instead of just 3 in order to maintain their energy levels.

Vitamin and mineral nutrition can not be overlooked by someone wishing to build muscle mass rapidly. All vitamins and certain trace minerals are needed in higher amounts by bodybuilders in order to facilitate the expansion of their muscles and keep skin healthy. This can aid in the prevention of stretch marks when the muscle growth exceeds the speed at which the skin grows.

Finally, there are several high protein, vitamin rich dietary supplements and drinks that are designed for bodybuilders to facilitate rapid muscle growth. These supplements often include amounts of protein and amino acids that are several times higher than the RDA for an average person in each serving. Their purpose is to put the basic building blocks needed to build muscle mass rapidly in the body so that as soon as the workout is over and resting begins, the body can start immediately to build up the muscles that were torn down by the intense workout.

There are some rare individuals who have difficulty building muscle mass rapidly. For most bodybuilders, however, the combination of heavy weight training for fewer reps to tear down muscles coupled with a specialized diet of high protein low fat meals and complex carbohydrates for energy and adequate rest periods to allow the body to recover and heal these micro tears will do the trick. Adding specialized dietary supplements designed to induce rapid muscle development will also aid in building muscle mass rapidly.
