Acid Alkaline Diet: Home Study Course
is a diet program and a 94 pages e-book written by Michael Murray. The
diet emphasizes, to a varying degree, fresh fruit, vegetables,
roots and tubers, nuts, and legumes. It is a dietary protocol based on
the consumption of foods which metabolise (burn) to leave an alkaline
residue (ash).
Minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc,
copper, are the principal components of the residue as they are
incombustible. Foods are thus classified as alkaline, acid or neutral
according to the ph of the solution created with their ash in water.
The foods you eat either release an acid or an alkaline
base (bicarbonate) into our blood. Proponents of The Acid-Alkaline Diet
say that when you load up on excess amounts of protein, sugar, caffeine
and other highly-processed foods, your pH levels are thrown off track.
Your blood is slightly alkaline, with a normal pH level
of between 7.35 and 7.45. The theory behind the Acid-Alkaline Diet is
that your diet should reflect this pH level. Proponents believe a diet
high in acid-producing foods disrupts this balance and promotes the
loss of essential minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, and
sodium. This imbalance is believed to make people more prone to illness.

Actual Customer Feedback:
"...I went through a bit of a detox-like
flu-ish phase the first week on the diet. The following week was only a
little detoxy then afterward I found that I didn't even feel like
sugary foods or coffee anymore. Weird! I looked to Raw Food recipe
books to keep up with having a variety...and a healthier option for
desserts when I want to have a treat..."

"...he doest a good job of suggesting
alkaline foods and _meals_ you can take instead of acidic ones. Like
most other books, he also gives a nice list of foods and whether they
are alkalizing, slightly acidifying, or highly acidifying.
The section on alkaline supplements is not really useful. It's not
detailed enough, and he doesn't seem to make any clear recommendations
for what kinds or which ones to use.
Finally, the section on drainin acids gives some good tips and techniques for removing acids through the lungs and skin..."

"...It's also true that this book
doesn't give you detailed eating plans and recipes the way some books
do. What it does give you is a lot of invaluable information. Vasey
understands that there will never be a "one size fits all" diet that
works for everyone. Every'body' is different, and ultimately you have
to find out for yourself what works for you. Nobody can do that for you.
Of course not everything in this book will be right for you, I don't
eat dairy, for example. But Vasey has given me the information and
confidence I needed to work out the right diet for ME.
The most important thing of all: listen to your body !"
